Question Aluminum Flywheel Dust Cover For 700R4

I need some help on a converter dust cover. I have a new ZZ4 Crate Motor with a 700 R4 behind it. The particular 700 R4 that I have needs the cast aluminum dust cover with the 4 bolt pattern. Several people have told me that GM only makes 1 style. Well, the one I have has a 6 bolt pattern and bottoms out against the block before it goes high enough to be in place & bolt up. Am I going to have to trim the collar of the cover so it will go up higher without hitting the block or is there another (correct) cover out there? If so, what would be the part number and/or what year/model vehicles had it on them? Any help would be greatly appreciated............
