For anything 327 with aluminum heads, I wouldn't run less than 10:1 static compression. That would leave at least a 9:1 effective compression ratio, less than that would be disappointing in a 327. The Edelbrock Performer RPM would be a good choice for your 327. You don't need big ports or max airflow, just efficient balance for your combo.
