Am I crazy for wanting quieter exhaust?

Well, I just got my recent engine running and am working on getting everything broken in. This is the first time I've been concerned about full exhaust and thought I'd come up with a pretty decent system. I was at one of our local tracks and heard a car I really liked, and asked the guy what he had on it for ehaust, because it was pretty quiet, for street use and such. He told me so I used that as a basis for mine. So right now, I'm running dual 2.5" pipes all the way back, off of the stock manifolds, with a crossover pipe. The mufflers I have are an eight inch Schoenfeld muffler with 3" inlet and outlet and a 3.5" chamber. Here's a picture of them #83030 The inside looks like that collector insert at the bottom of the page. They flow awesome, sound great, but are just a little loud for my taste. Without completely redoing the exhaust, is the any suggestions for quieting it down a bit with out hindering flow much?

Are your tail pipes straight or turned down to the road? If they are straight, you may be stuck. If they are turn downs, you could rotate them to exit towards the sides of the car. Straight down, you get a lot of resonance off the road/track. You can't beat the price to try....free!
