ha ha, awesome. I used to have one of those motors. Not a bad little mill but no guts at all!

I have since used the butt-dyno to affirm that the Offenhauser dual port intake and Hedman hedder are worth plenty of grunt.
Tuning a 4 barrel carb on a 4 cylinder engine is another chapter to itself. Larry |

Dude I can't believe you are wasting your time with that stuff! You're the last guy I would have thought would be messing with a four-popper!
How have you been anyway? K |

It's all about the MPG, dude.
I'm attempting to get more work done with the same amount of fuel. That way I get another few miles out of a gallon of the liquid gold. Right now the cranking cylinder pressure is just a tick under 200psi and the temp's hovering near 170. I was able to drop the total timing to 29 degrees with better combustion chambers and a tight quench. Less negative work ya know. All this being conducive to getting more work done, horsepower/torque, without using any more fuel. I'd like to play with the cam timing but roller cams are $$$$$. For now I'll work with what I have. the next step is heated fuel and water/alcohol injection. By the way, I haven't abandoned real horsepower. I'm just making other peoples cars faster. It's less expensive and I still get to play. Larry |
