American Graffiti 40 Years Later ......

Hard to believe but it's the 40th anniversary of one of the best car movies ever made, American Graffiti. I watched it again the other day and it's still fun to see the cool cars and listen to the great music. Oh how young all those actors look in this movie ....

Happy Birthday, American Graffiti

I've watched it several times over the years and enjoy it every time - but the acting is sure corny.

Yeah, some of the dialog was pretty funky, but the cars and music were top notch. Would love to see a remake of this one .......

....with the original actors. I've forgotten the girl's name that drove the T-bird, but a couple years ago she was signing autographs at the Right Coast show in Syracuse - didn't age well.

That music - that was the best of it

No, not the original actors .....they probaly drive a Prius. The girl in the T Bird was Suzanne Somers. (sp?)

You may be thinking of Candy Clark, who does a lot of the big shows. I don't think Suzanne needs the money, and she still looks pretty good, all things considered!

Nice rendering by the way, Bob! Yeah, it may be square by today's standards, but I never get tired of watching it. Probably have seen it 20 times, a few months ago, the latest.

Ditto for the original actors, I saw Paul Le Mat, Cindy Williams, Bo Hopkins, and the blond that played Toads girlfriend, at the Grand National Roadster Show last year. The years have not been good to any of them

LOL and my bad - it was actually Candy Clark who is also blond. I should have done a search - it's been at least a couple years since I watched it last and CRS has set in.

These are the actors: American Graffiti (1973) - Full cast and crew

When one says that "the years have not been good to any of them" or "they haven't aged well", I stop and look in the mirror and wonder if any of us have aged well?

I went to my 40 yr high school reunion about a dozen years a go and said who are all those fat bald headed guys standing over there? My wife had never seen the movie but when it ran recently she has it on the DVR. and she asks when are we going to have the A roadster on the street.
