American Rice
Okay, I own a 77 El Camino that I'm working on to get back on the road soon. As such, I spend some time digging around a few of the El Camino boards looking for model-specific info for my car.
While I was looking around I found the photo below. The picture is bad enough, but what's worse is that there's a guy who wants to do something like this... but he wants to add a Playstation2, LCD screen w/ DVD player, and 10" subs in the console as well. http://hotrodders.com/gallery/data/5...nrice.jpg?1891 |

do you have a pic of your 77 el Camino?
i sold my 77 to a guy in Houston (Blue Bastard). i know it is a long shot, but i have seen stranger things. it was two tone blue, dark/baby, with the aluminum trim separating the colors. it had a custom seat, with wood grain console and custom headliner/door panels, and rally wheels. i sold just the shell (no motor/trans). could it be yours. later Aaron |

Here is what I saw sitting in the parking lot at the swap meet yesterday. The funny thing is the back window had a big glass-etched mural that was for the American Bikers something-or-other.
There was also curb feelers on the passenger side and purple velvet interior! Later, WEIMER |
AKM,
My Elkie is black and silver - originally it was brown. I bought it last Dec from a kid in Arlington, Tx. It's pretty much sat abandoned for the last year while I restructured my finances and stored up some money to work on it. No pics of my Elkie yet. I'm still ashamed of the way it looks right now. It needs a fender and a lot of minor bodywork to look good. I just got the engine in it a couple of weeks ago, and got the exhaust system hooked up on Saturday. I went with sidepipes for the 70's nostalgia factor. I'm trying to get it street legal, then I'm going to start the body work. I'm not trying for a beauty queen, just a decent ride with a little extra muscle in it. I'll try to get some pics up though. I'll just have to show the side with the good fender on it. (The kid I got it from dropped it off a jack - or so he says, and crushed the drivers side front fender.) |
I can't beleive that my kid loves that crap too, playstation, T.V., 50,000 watt stereo. bells. whistles, buzzers, etc. Have todays kid driven dull, boring, lifeless cars for so long that they don't have a clue what it takes to build an exciting vehicle???????
