annivrsary ideas
O.k. Maybe this should be in the dump but this forum does not have to be car related, right? If your not interested please pass this one up. Those who have ideas can post it or just email me. Mostly asking ideas from the men but would like a womans perspective also since your more in tune with what a lady would like/enjoy. July 29th will be our 25th anniversary. I'd like to come up with something special to surprise her with. What have some of you done for your 25th? I may sing Annies Song (John Denver) in church for her sunday of that week. (I sang it to her in the ceremony when we got married)(she cried the whole time). I also may take her on a cruise but if I do, it will be in the winter just to see what it's like to escape the snow and cold of Ohio. She does want a party. Did anyone get there spouse a special gift to commemerate the day? What was it? Looking fo any and all ideas. Thanks guys/gals.

Ok 38.. Here we go ! Speaking from a womans point of view... A woman is so impressed when her man REMEMBERS THINGS about romantic times that they have had together. How about relive your wedding day .. right down to the last detail. I know when my hubby remembers things like that I think to myself .. damn .. he does have a romantic side. Mind you .. he remembers to tell me to change the oil in the truck or its time to flush out the rad .. but to me thats good enough .. hell at least he is remembering something!

I know that at times when there is "romance" in the air and he remembers certain things .. It makes me think just how much of our life he cared enough about to remember. And being 25years .. wow .. your old .. I think she would be impressed that the day that you got married still sticks in your mind... and if it doesnt.. well get some help from the people that were there and can remember!

Again .. Its just a womans point of view!

Kim :D

Do something off the wall. Take her to a comedy club or something that you guys have not done in twenty five years. Above all tell her that you love her. Send her to have a massage, nails done, something she can be pampered with. Of course a diamond never hurts either.

There are still a few drive-in movie theaters open around Ohio There is one in Sidney right off of the interstate. Take her someplace fun and different from the normal stuff. I know when my wife and I go out to do something together we usually try to find someplace that we have never been before.
Just hang in'll find somethin'!

My wife loves jewelery so I have a custom jeweler who makes all my jewlery. He works out of his home which is to put it kindly a dump. He is probably 150# over weight, is covered in tatoos and wears a pony tail and full scraggly beard.

All that aside, he makes great jewelery to my specifications for probably 20% of retail. I just had him make a 5ct natural ruby center stone ring surrounded by 2 cts of alternating diamond and rubys for $350.

One of these trinkets and a trip to somewhere that our kids can't find us (Yousemite this year, Vegas and Santa Catalina Island other years - doesn't need to be expensive) is all it takes to score big points.

Point is, find out what she likes and do ALL the arrangements yourself and she will be very happy.

Quote by: Kim, "wow, You must be old." "AAAHHHH! Willy's can you pull that knife out of my poor old back?" Just kidding Kim. :D Thanks for the woman's perspective. After 25 yrs. (got married at 23 and she was 19) I guess I have hit middle age kinda hard but I still have a young heart and I am the romantic one in our union. Surprised? I like some of your idea, that's one of the reasons I thought about singing that song to her I sang on our wedding day. I was never allowed to sing that song at anyone elses wedding. (Sometimes I sing at weddings. I also sing semi proffessionaly in a Gospel quartet.) Thanks for your help. I think I'll wonder off to my easy chair. :) Naaaaw! I have the day off. I'm getting out my Kawasaki 1000 and going riding. The kids are all in school now it's my turn to have some fun! :D Yahooooo!

Thanks for the good ideas fellas. You've got the wheels in my head grinding. Still looking for more input. Keep 'em coming. I thought I'd treat her special on our 25th cause I may not live long enough for the 50th. Men seem to die early in our lineage. But who knows I try to take care of myself better than my forefathers did.

I AM NOT OLD!!! Im a 1965 model that was built for comfort.. not for speed!
I prefer to think of myself as a sleek two door model with a blowout in front ;) and a flat behind!

Later 38

I didn't say you were old Kimmie. You said I was, remember? :D I knew you were kidding. Or, at least I hoped you were. However, YOU, are older than I though you were. I figured you to be about a sleek and fast 79 model. However a 65 model built for comfort with a blown out front and flat behind leaves a pleasant image in mind. Your husband must be very lucky. I know I am. Have a nice evening. By the way... did you get the truck?

Weimer, we use to spend a lot of evenings at the drive-in. I can even remember a couple of movies we saw. :D :D :D We were both horror movie buffs. Do they still have the one over by Kenton? I think the only one left around here is between St. Mary's and Celina.

HEY 38: Women like something different to tell their friends about. I have taken a ball of twine and started at door knob ( I get up before her) and traced it all through house, garage, through windows. Tie notes along twine with " Sweet Messages" along route. Tie other end to a present. She will looove it.
Number two is have " Treasure Hunt" with pack of stick up postem notes. Have each note lead to another location where there is another note, or clue. This one you can drag out for days :D and finally identify where to find present. It might even be you.....GOOD LUCK

Weimer 05-16-2003 11:39 PM

There is one in Sidney and one in Springfield...nope it's not the New Moon either :D
We go to the one in Sidney every now and then...haven't been there for a minute though. When I had my truck(before my daughter was born) My boy used to love to go with us because he could sit in the bed and listen to 'daddy's woud steweo' play the movie. Now he's addicted to the big screen tv and the surround sound.

Kevin45 05-17-2003 02:31 AM

Hey 38!!!!!! You talking about the drive-in before you get to Kenton on 68 just east of Belle Center? If so... WELL YOU OLD DOG!!!!!!!! No wonder you didn't see any movies. How many kids you got? Just kidding!!! LOL!!!
