Another fuel pump question.
Okay guys, engines aren't my strong point so I've got a stupid queston. If you take out your mechanical fuel pump and install an electric one do you have to take out the rod/shaft that fits up to the mechanical fuel pump or can you just leave it in the engine. I left mine in but a guy I work with thought I should take it out.

Yes, You need to remove the pushrod, and put a block off plate in place of the pump.

Thanks, I have a chrome cover on it. I just need to take out the rod.
