another Kobalt compressor ?
I have a Kobalt K7060HFV and I just put a reed valve assembly on it. I decided to go ahead and change the oil but in doing so the case that the brass/copper drain tube screws into stripped out. It looks like they only had about 2 maybe 3 threads in the case and about 3/8" of thread on the brass tube. Go Figure..
Anyway, has anyone had this problem before and what did you do. I thought about just tapping it out a little larger and maybe just put a bolt in it. Anyone know what size threads is in the casing? I will call the compressor people tomorrow but thought i would ask ya'll first. Thanks for any help |
Sure I would think you could go to the next size just fine, would not suggest a bolt it might go to deep and interfere with something. You would be better off using a pipe plug. It just needs to be snugged enough to prevent an oil leak the next time you try, I say that cause you will not get to many chances to keep bumping up the size of the drain...

Anyway, I hope the tube with the cap will work, it is pipe threads. Thanks |
