Another one bites the dust....sorta.

Those of you who remember me know that I used to have a 1991 Toyota MR2 turbo that was nicely kitted out and making around 325hp. You would also recall that I blew the motor and sold it to get a Subaru WRX. Well my WRX is about to go up for sale so I can move on to bigger and better things. (literally)

As it sits now, the WRX is making about 365hp (291hp to all 4 wheels) with basic bolt-ons. It may not sound like a lot to many people here, but when you consider it's 2.0 liters and makes 185hp to the wheels stock, it's quite an improvement.

flat 4-second 0-60 and high 12-second 1/4 mile times don't suck, either.

Anyway...in the last couple years I've received a few promotions and now it's time for something bigger (than a 2.0 4-banger) and better (than a Subaru). I'm going to check out a Merc C32 AMG this week that I have a feeling will be the next thing in my garage. For those of you who don't know, from the factory it makes 349hp out of a blown 3.2liter V6. I know it's not as fast as my WRX because I've raced one before on the highway But...it's got GOBS of luxury compared to the Scooby and it still scoots. So there you have it.

Just thought I'd check in here as I tend to do when I hit a major automotive milestone

Are you buying new or used? Is it under warranty? Moght not matter if your rolling in dough, but too many people buy used luxury cars and then go broke on upkeep. Apparently there are quality problems all over and MB is no different according to some of the stories I have heard from their mechanics.

I drove one at a C-Spot Drive event and loved it. Like that long glass roof

It's a 2003 (used) C32. It has been Starmarked by Merc meaning it's got a warantee for 6 years (until 2009) or 100k miles. Since the one I'm looking at has only 36k miles on it, I'm pretty comfortable with the warrantee it comes with.

I can't wait to drive it. I've driven the C230 Kompressor which is pretty similar...only it has about 170 less hp
