Another 8" of snow last night, finished plowing and shoveling my parking lot and my 85 year old neighbors driveway. I tell him to let me shovel but he was out there before I got there. finished the bump stop project and started putting in the brackets for the rear bumpers that go under the car. phil
Looks like southern maine and the coastal area got Hammered with snow.
We got a bunch here in NortheastPA.
Its about 2 feet deep in the fron yard. That is accumulation from the last 3 events.
Is It spring yet?LOL:thumbup:
MY YARD TODAY ain: lol
2/19/14 had to shovel drive by hand ain: I have 3 1/2 feet in the yard sunny & warm today and warmer tomorrow ALL THAT WATER WILL HEAD FOR MY HOUSE ain::sweat: and GARAGE !!!!!!!ain::drunk:
I know how you feel, another 8" yesterday and 3" more this morning, on top of at least 2feet, tired of plowing and shoveling every morning. sunny and warm today, rain and ice tomorrow. think spring:
MAN!!!!ain: It was supposed to be warm today, Its snowing and 32F. and its noon! Well at least its not the freezing rain we were forecast for today yet
Ah! SPRING!! Yes I can't wait!!
sportcoupe You have the weather today I had yesterday:thumbup: it was great 40s and sunny
What's a shovel? All but 2 vehicles in my driveway are 4x4 or AWD.. I use the snowblower to clear the first snowfall ( 3' ), but haven't done anything for the last 6-8" of accumulation since the DD's have no issue. My '51 Chevy got stuck in the driveway yesterday cause the front brakes stick just a little ( they do free up ), and it's enough to spin out the rears in slick conditions. Let down my best friends little guy with that one since we were going to go for a ride, but it happens I guess
Well the freezing rain started last night and US 27 is closed due to back ups in both lanes!!! The roads are slick as glass LOL that's unusual for here usually the countys are on top of it and especially the express ways like US 27!!! Right now its a white out with 50 mile an hour gusts!!!!
well here in maine we had freezing rain now its just rain, but almost 40. calling for sun tomorrow and in the 40's, first time its been above freezing for a couple of weeks. working in the garage tomorrow, going to start working my head liner.sc
Some snow this year but nothing like last years 10 or 12 feet total. This year is wierd, a seriously long cold spell will be on us for weeks then back up to around melting point for a few days then back into the freezer. The snow has been moderate, no major dumps but a few heavy blasts. From what I can tell the winds have been stronger than usuall. This is one wacky winter and we are expecting another cold snap starting now at minus 20 to minus 35 Deg for a week or more, par for the course but no fun.
Last year was a sledding paradise, not too cold and tons of snow, this year cant ride the sleds much too darn cold most days but I have them ready to go and take off whenever possible to try and stay sane :smash:
Never fear!
It gets deeper.
We're about an inch deep in wet fluffy stuff now. Enough to shut down the Island. If it was a weekday everybody would stay home. LOL!!
Here in the valley, we'up to about a half inch now.
About once every ten years we actually get REAL snow. A few years ago, it was about 2 feet deep. Plows and sanders had major roads all passable the whole time. My wife couldn't get out of our little street to the major cross-street a block away, but my little Suzuki 4X4 Sidekick commuter car didn't even notice the stuff.
No snow yet but the high tomorrow will be 9 D. F. and the day after I think I saw 5F. forecast as the High! The plows haven't hit our roads for 4 days because under the snow is ICE and they have almost no SALT left so they are leaving the snow because their great logic boiled down to SNOW IS LESS SLIPPERY THEN ICE :drunk:ain: And on some roads they use the waste brine water from the oil rigs on the roads BUT ITS FREEZING ON THE ROADS WHEN THE TEMP DROPS making it WORSE:drunk:ain:
Because the brine salt content isn't always high enough to keep it from freezing at low temps ain::drunk: And man does that BRINE STINK!!!
Oh yeah welcome to March. - 42 deg C here this fine morning. I would take 10 feet of snow over that any day! My truck sure makes some strange sounds, yikes. TJ.
Cheer up!!
We're getting a pineapple express today!
Warm moist air from our freind's in Hawaii.
We'll take the moisture and we're sending you the warm air!
Here in Maine 8degs this morning and supposed to get a high of mid 20's. no more snow for a while just bitter cold. I still have 12-18" of snow in my yard. just waiting for mud season. sc
Hang in there, it'll get there. Likely by the weekend.
Not easy for a low pressure system to push a high pressure system outta the way.
If it's a polar vortex you got, does that mean we have a bi-polar vortex?? LOL!!
