Having made my living as an artist my whole life, I have to jump in here. Malc, If you can't hold a tune at all, how much practice do you think it would take for you to become an accomplished singer? The answer - a longggg time, and many other factors would come into play for you to make it or break it. My point is, don't confuse artistic talent with the development of a skill set. I can weld (I've developed that skill thru practice) but never in a million years would I be able to make a weld that would be so beautiful as to make tears come to your eyes - I don't have that kind of talent! My talents lie elsewhere, but if I was looking for a weld that would do that, I wouldn't have a problem asking an accomplished welder (read: Artist) to help me get that accomplished. I believe that is all Sooper originally asked for. I can't find any place in the thread where he offered to pay someone or where he requested an instructor to learn how to draw - he just asked for help getting something done that he can't do himself!
