Any Benefit To A Light Wheight Fuel Pump Push Rod?

Is there any true benefit to having a light wheight fuel pump push rod over a standard? The price difference is only about $7.00. I know lighter is always better, and I'll probably buy the light wheight rod(for a 340 horse 350 sbc) I'm just curious.

The light weight one will not float at higher rpms like the heavy steel one will. If you have a weak spring in the pump, its even worse. If you are planning on turning over 6 grand, i'd go with the light weight one to be on the safe side.
