Any euro/import guys on here?

I know this site is mainly about domestics but at least someone on here into imports too! I switched from domestic muscle to import (for now) mainly because of gas prices. But i still do like domestics better. Much easier to mod! Post pics and info of your car if you have one!

"Hotrodders" Well I guess the name says it all. A hot rod is typically not an import. Unless you mean an a/c cobra (body was import). I think you will be hard pressed to find many on this site. I like the new imports though. They are more rally type and road course. Wrx and such.

Hey its worth a try! i've always thought of a hot rod as a car thats modified to be fast, race, improved handling, etc... Not just muscle. I think of imports, or tuners, as a different kind of hot rod. Doesnt have the same purpose as a traditional hot rod but its still modified and what not

Its a matter of opinion i guess. I believe a well done car deverves credit no matter what it is. And just cause it doesnt have a v8 doesnt mean its not fast. Take this 300zx. Looks nice on the outside, has a 600hp twin turbo v6 and will blow the doors off 90% of the cars on the site. I would be equally proud to drive that as i would be to drive, say, a cuda.

I would take the cuda with a twin turbo new style hemi, or for that matter an old stroked out hemi pushing 800 hp naturally aspirated. Or even my 496 procharged 67 camaro. When they start putting 6 cylinders in top fuel cars and beating the 8's I will be impressed. But I guess this is way off topic. I think the twin turbo z is an awesome and amazing car but a "tuner" not a "hot rod", but that's just my opinion. A well done car deserves credit no doubt. I would be proud to drive that one too! We were not talking about fast we were talking about "hot rod" Bla blah blah you know what I mean

I guess that my 1969 VW, Squareback station wagen, with a 2" x 3" tube chassis, sbc 350, 330 horse, 700R4 trannie, Mustang II front suspension and narrowed 9" Ford, triangulated 4-bar rear end project I am working on is not considered a hot rod. Boy, all along the build, I have thought I was building a hot rod. In my own opinion, a hot rod is whatever you want it to be. I visualize a hot rod as non-stock, different and fast.

Think of it this way, if someone put a 600HP nissan turbo V6 in a 32 deuce with a flame job would it still be a hotrod? or would it just be a mistake?

I think the bottom line is, whatever you want to call a hotrod, SO BE IT!!! When all of the hotrod "purists" start paying me on my project car, I will call it whatever they want me to call it. Until that time, my 1969 Volkswagen Squareback is my hotrod.
