Any Gift Ideas.....???

FathersDay's coming up.......i got 60 bones to spend on a gift for my dad, but i just dont know what the hell to get him.....
I thinking he's wanting a rechargable flashlight, but i dunno where the hell to find a good big one that works well. Harbor freight mabey....
Anyone have a good rechargable flashlight they wanna say where they got it...(wanted to get a streamlite, but cant find them anywhere in a store.....that and they are like 150 bux for a decent size one......xenon hd bulb, cops use em..)

Besides that, what other gifts are good? I basically bought all the weird crap i can over the years now im runnin dry on ideas....any help?

ideas need to be things from a store (walmart, sears, homedepot, etc) , not online, i got cash not plastic.

Thanks.

those are nice lookin, i want it to be Bright like that
a little pricey like the streamlites..The cases on these look built better than the streamlites. (good for cracking a head if need be)
Thanks for the link i hadnt seen those before.

more ideas ne1?

Think i might have found a decent one...Its takes 3 d cells...currently my dad has a 4 d cell maglite....i think this 3 d will be about the same if not better , with the l.e.d.'s.....i gotta cheapie 2 aa 3 led pencil flashlight, its bright. So i think mabey this one would be a good deal...That and harbor freight is in visalia....i could make a quick trip there.

Usually a Zippo with his name engraved in it will get me about a years worth of not getting grounded..... when in trouble you can always say "but dad I got you that very expensive Zippo with your name and everthin on it, doesnt that mean anything to you?" LOL

Ive gotten him a couple of zippos in the past with his name engraved on it those make good gifts. But he doesnt use em anymore, they leak fuel and always have to refill em...

I went down to harbor freight and picked up a garrity stainless steel 3 d cell xenon flashlight for 20 bucks now ill just buy a charger and some nicad batterys and that should be set.. pic is horrible but it looks like a quality piece, lifetime gaurantee.

If you want to give him something he'll always remember, and be no cash out of hand,,, just write him a little letter telling him thanks for all the things he's taught you and how you appreciate it.

One of those led flashlights sounds pretty tho!!

as much as i would like to, me and my dad have a silent relationship. I dont talk outloud too much Im a quiet loner type. We both know we care alot about each other, but were men..... Ya kno its hard to talk feelings. I usually pick out a good card that has a long saying on it and let that do the talking. same with him But he does get a hug tho.

-any ideas on batteries and a charger? rechargable batterys will work for alkaline products correct?
Ill go tomorrow and get the charger and batts from radioshack or walmart, if ya guys got anyother ideas spit em out.

and also happy fathers day to ya guys, yep im early but o well.

harbor Freight

Doc here,

Dude, Isn't there a Harbor Freight in Vallejo as well? (your in SF Bay area Aren't you?)

Anyways, You can get that same mag light (case) With LED lights at ACE for about 50 Bucks..and about 1/3 less on sale (which they just ,may be on now..check)

My Road dawgie owns a Bar, just bought it,..and until he staff's up...my alter~Ego at night has been back up bartender, Bouncer..

One of our good customers (who has a liver made of Kevlar by now..) works at ACE, and got everyone working at the bar one for (his price) $17.00..

These things ROCK! There brighter than the Cops Mag lights, (they sometimes use ours..) and The battery's will last almost as long as the cockroach species..forever..and through an atomic blast!

Homey Depot May carry them too retail cheaper than ACE, so check there too..

What ever ya get him..just the fact that you remembered him on Pop's Day , will mean as just as much..

We olde Guys tend to miss our Adult kids when the grow up and move away..and they get busy building their own life hundreds of miles away! In Fact..A good Dinner at a nice restaurant would probably mean as much as any gift you could buy...as an another alternative..

As a father let me say this to all. Please do not buy cheap stuff that pertains to my interests, you will probably be wasting your money. I don't want the $8.00 hundred piece socket set from the truckstop. Take me out to lunch. Don't buy me cologne unless you are sure it is what I wear. Go to an antique store and buy something old and cool, no one else will bring the same thing and it will be unique/thoughtful.
Once I gave my dad a rock I found in the driveway. I put it in a little felt lined box and wrote this big story about how it was centurys old and was found in a burial mound, something about it being used by the tribal chief's daughter in a fertility cerimony or some crazy thing. He laughed his butt off and when he died he still had it with the few things he treasured. Be creative, your dad's need for more "stuff" will get harder and harder to detect, give him you. and you can't go wrong.

Im right by dinger, Tulare is visalias butthole about 6 miles or so to visalia from here. (dead center of california....the big valley) Hf..I was there about 40 mins ago got the flashlight.
You know i seen a kickass gremlin in Visa down mooney blvd. It was soooo bad!!! dark blue It looked like a mustang at first glance and then i seen it was hatchback. suprisingly sweet. big 3 or 4" side pipes right before the rear wheels. This thing Looked mean!

The ace in our town burned to the ground about 4 years ago, they never replaced it....Theres an osh right next to harbor freight in visalia tho, thats about as close to ace as there is.

You know that schrade is out of business right? Now it's worth even more.
hard to go wrong with a good knife.
I got my pop a knife, a shirt i'm sure he'll never wear, and some good socks.

WB3, my pop still has the pencil holder i made in second grade. But i doubt he could tell you what he got last year.... and he's not that old.

Its hard shopping for parents. My dad had a couple of ford galaxies when he was younger and a 69 mach I. A couple of years ago I built a model of a '62 Galaxie like he had. He later told me he should collect a few models. He saw a couple race cars I built and a chevelle I have at my house. I've been thinking this year maybe some kind of painting with cars he owned when he was younger. I better get moving and find him something. I think more something they will remember then something expensive. Moms easy, just buy her some kind of plant or flowers every year and she plants them in her garden. She doesn't kill them like I do, and still has an exotic one I bought her a couple of years ago, and the thing is huge now.

No wonder I hadn't heard back from them. I always buy Old timers when I find ones with loose bolsters and they will send me a new one. Well I had done it several times and the last time was a bearpaw that I got at a yard sale. They sent me a notice that it was under consideration then I never heard another word.
