Are you sure about the number? It doesn't show up on any site i've looked at.

I too cannot find anything on this number...? Are you sure its correct...? Can tell you the 397 series of blocks were early 70`s... Do a bore measurement (just lay a ruler across the center of the bore) and give a rough diameter which may help...?

I`m guessing the number you mean is 3970014, the 8 is easily confused with 0, and 1 is easily confused with 4. So if your numbers are the above, you have a 350, used from 1970 to 1976, 2 or 4 bolt main cap. But this is just a shot in the dark.
