Post Any ideas if i can get a custom exhaust for my 84Z28?

I want to have true duels, i was told this is possible by running 2 pipes down the one exhaust channel, but im not sure, i really wanna have true duels, But i will still have to use the 1 muffler correct?

You're pretty much bummin' with th dua exhaust thing. You can run two 2" pipes but not two 2 1/2 pipes. better off with the 3" pipe and crossflow muffler. 2 pipes in the same channel will bag and rattle till your teeth fall out!. You can modify the trans crossmember to fit duals straight out the back then you have serious ground clearance issues with an already to low car. I certianly would'nt try it.

third gen camaros dont have a dual exhaust option? thats odd, if you have a channel on each side of the tranny, you should be able to easily fit 3" dual exhaust in there. My '69 camaro will fit 3" easily.

I'd double check somebody has to make a duel setup somewere. If not I'd just buy the pipes and have a muffler shop bend um for ya.They can't install um for ya but they can bend um if they don't know what there goin on.Just take carful measurements and try to keep um as strait as possible only bend around the crossmember if possible.Although this method may be tough and require many trips to the guy with the bender.

Or see if you can buy the pipe and find someone who will make you a system after hours for a few bucks on the side. But you ain't gettin a warrentie or receipt.

At least I don't know where to get the dual option, I should have been more clear. This is also based on my 88'. Maybe you have better rads than mine. Here they wouldn't make to the local parts store!

That dilema really ticked me off about GM..... there is no easy way to make a true dual exhaust (one muffler isn't "true dual").

That massive-long torque arm (tranny to rearend) on the driver's side is in the way. It's also not "emission legal" (if you care).

The best thing I could figure out was a whopping big single exhaust.... stays legal and fits.... maybe 3"....3-1/2".....4"????

I don't know where you'd get a high-flow cat like that, but you should be able to get the mufflers...maybe a school bus or dump truck?

My friend has an 86 IROC Z with a 4 inch exhaust. If you look in the back of a HotRod or Superchevy mag. i think that there's a guy that will make you a dual exhaust kit. But it might have to go into 1 muffler. But good luck.

you have three solutions. If you wanna do it the cheap way... Just simply have your exhaust tight to the floor and end it at the rear tires. If you wanna do it the inneficant way then run two pipes down the same route. If you wanna do it the hard way... cut the panhard bar mount off the rear axel... shorten the panhard bar... then weld the mount on the axel in a better location and then hook it all back up (might wanna do some measuring) there is enough clearance in the tunnel on each side of the tourque arm for the exhaust (might wanna make a heat sheild for the brake lines on the drivers side of the tunnel) and then you can run your exhaust easily over the rear axel and have your mufflers and pipes hung where the origional large muffler was... This is the way I am planning on doing it but the exhaust will get in the way.. that is why I am planning on making it a secontional exhaust that can be easily dismantaled
