any one ever done this?

any one ever put a 350 in a s-10? i know there out there,,,

what kind of mods did you have to do to make to all work? im thinking 88-90 s-10 that comes with a 4 banger in it...

im asuming you put new motor mounts and a diff tranny/drive shaft and some fatty tires on it but i might as well ask..

how did it do? any one ever take it down the 1/4? what kind of set up did you have ont he 350?

Not hard at all.

Mine is a short bed. 406 with a 700r4. Auburn posi 3:73 gears in stock housing.

I made plates to extend the v-8 mounts back to the stock frame and welded them in. Hedman hedders for exhaust. Aftermkt aluminum radiator and electric fan for cooling. 700r-4's bolt in with stock pieces (they were used on 4.3's in the s-series) as does the stock driveshaft. Dual exhaust pipes down one side.

Problems being.. 700r4 has way too low of a 1st gear. Smokes tires.. Added posi.. still smokes tires. Traction bars.. still smokes tires..Wear tennis shoes instead of work boots... still smokes tires!! Gets lots of looks... An old grey beard chirpin off into the sunset...

The 350 in an S10 is probably the single most common engine swap I know of. Do a search. Amazon has 15 books dedicated solely to this swap. Oil pans, headers, engine mounts, front springs to hold the extra weight, EVERYTHING is out there.

You could put your SBC in a Fiero
More weight over the rear tires = "less" tires spin. I can still spin the tires

one for sale

I will probably get in trouble for advertising in this post, hopefully not. I just put my 84 long bed prostreet s-10 in the project vechile section, check it out. There is a book out there that goes step by step for the swap, it is worth the 40 bucks or so.
