i never put one in a chevy, but did years ago put an edelbrock cam, springs, intake and carb on an olds 455.it run ok but i swaped the carb and cam for a holley and a comp cams cam shaft with the same spec.and what a difference.
i will never use an edelbrock cam shaft again.
the only reason that i used it then was the customer was trying to do the economical build to make power, and that was wrong.but he insisted that it was a matched kit and would work best boy was he wrong.if i remimber correctly there was a 75-80hp increase.
i'll look and see if i can find a copy of the cam card and dyno sheet, not sure if i still have those because i don't work a the same place.

rpm cam.

I have a complete rpm package (355) cubic inch in a 1963 chevy pu. really sounds great, the idle sounds meaner than my drag car. but if you are considering using the rpm cam you will need some stall, depending on the weight of your hotrod, at least 2500 to 3000 or it will be a turd off the line .
