Any Pulling Tractor fans out there?

Next to car events, tractors pulls have to be the next coolest thing in the world. I went to the local annual pull last night, and i am thinking this morning about how much fun it would be to get into that sport.

You cant help but get excited about those monsters making over 6000 combined engine horsepower. And the creativity those guys have is awesome.

Last night I saw a DT466 International Truck engine that had been converted to methanal injection, was sequentially turbocharged, and had grown to around 540 cid. This thing makes 3000 HP!!!! It also has two blown alki chevys that make 1800 HP each. Last night the chevys where just along for the ride...kindof expensive weight ballast. If you are interested in seeing this thing here is a link. Check out the Texas Bullwhip. There is also a couple of V12's that are bad.

Anybody else into this stuff as much as me????

Later,
Chris

Im somewhat of a fan. My dad used to work for John Deer and 2 of the buddies that worked with him had pulling tractors. They have both won nationals like 1 or 2 times. The one tractor is Called Shotgun Red, im not sure about the other. I helped the owner of Shotgun Red put a 30K turbo on lol, that was fun.

they use to have the "OLD TIME" tractor pulls in Northern Iowa where I was born. They'd hook up a sled & as the tractor pulled it down the course people would set up on it untill they couldnt drag it any farther. Really neat to watch. BUT the wildest tractor there was driven by a long haired, tattoo'd Harley rider, it was a PINK hit & miss "Masey" funny damn thing you ever saw..........joe

my dad used to own one of the sleds. i went with him for about 10 years, but it messed up his back. then he left my grampas bussiness and my grampa sold the sleds. he used to build them, they built i think 13 different sleds. anyone ever hear of sled #14? one of my pops friends bought it and is now running it.

Dislocated a shoulder pulling a tractor.

They have them around here. I like the ones with 3 or 4 Rodak engines and nothing but smoke and noise!

I have alway thought that would be cool. Do they have some kind of pro modified running motorcycle engines? A dirt slinging lawnmower would be fun.
