Any scetch artist on this forum??
Take a look at this thread. It will give you a good idea on how to build bows and attach them to your roof which can be upholstered after you do your routing. Build your bows as thick as you need them with cut outs to route your ducts and places to place your speakers. The basic build starts at post #19.

Al,
Instead of dropping the entire headliner, how about building an overhead console in the front section instead and leaving the rear stock. One advantage of that is that you can then put your stereo and other controls up there and they are very close to your line of sight as you drive. You can size it to insure that your speakers and A/C ducts fit as well. Here's a quick shot of the overhead being built in my 32 pickup. One minor tip, if you put your stereo/cd player up there, be sure to vent the area. Better yet, put a small computer fan up there to keep the air moving. CD players get VERY hot and they can fail if don't keep them cooled down. ![]() BTW if you want sketches, maybe float this idea (along with a pic or two of your interior ceiling) in the hot rod art forum. Those guys are masters with photoshop.
