anybody with 1988 chev 4x4 truck with long tube headers. please reply

hi want to make sure long tube will work before i spend all that cash hopeing somone else has a1988 chevy truck 4x4 with v8 and long tube headers. thanks

How could they not work? Long tubes for the street, shorties for off road. Shouldnt pay more than $200-$300 max.

It's the general concensus that, '88-'98 trucks long tubes are not worth it on a stock engine, if you find 20 HP with them, your lucky. Along side the high cost, which is about double of the shorties+ a complete new exhaust as even a dual exhaust truck, is not dual from the manifolds back..

Stainless shorties can be had for $120 off Ebay, and many run them

long tube

im putting a 383 stroker and will buy good ones not eBay but wonder if i have room will i need to change oil filter location or anything thanks

As long as you get headers that are made for the truck you will be fine. Look at the jegs or summit brand headers. They're good quality but at much lower prices.
