Anybody had dealings with getting information from Ididit Steering Columns

Looking to see if anybody has installed a collapsible/Tilt ididit steering column.

Can't seem to get any info from ididit on details on their columns and the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards if they comply???
I've sent them some emails but no response.

In particular Standards 203 (Impact Protection for the Driver From the Steering Control System) and 204 (Steering Control Rearward Displacement).

Any help is gratefully appreciated....

From Australia or Down Under in the U.S

I don't know about the collapsible columns, but I have one of their tilt columns I acquired used, age unknown. I noticed at the end of last cruise season that there was some play in the shaft at the output end. I called their number in Michigan and the tech sent me a replacement bushing kit, free of charge. It was a snap to install. I'll be a repeat customer when the time comes.

I see you're from Australia, but if it's really important to you, a call to them here might be worth your time and money, even if it's to leave a short message asking them to reply to your e-mail.

Need to get proof of meeting either the ADR or FMVSS

Here in Australia especially in the state of Victoria the engineers now will require proof of the tests or showing that they meet the standards being the Australian ADR or U.S FMVSS.

I talked to them a few months ago about this for another Aussie. They told me it complies, and they can supply an engineering report if requested.

As said, as expensive as it might be, get on the phone - and they will help you as much as possible. They are about as helpful as any after market manufacturer I have ever dealt with - and when building my car there were lots. The IDIDIT people - usually the owner and his wife - are at many car shows here and will spend as much time as you need to 'fix' a problem.
