Anybody Made Their Own Chassis Jig?

posted September 14, 2003 06:26 PM
Hey Guys,

Has anyone on here made their own chassis jig? If so, what materials did you use? How did you lay it out? What do you use for fixturing, etc....? I'm thinking about building one for my shop, but would like ideas and preferably photos before I begin.

Thanks for any help,

Maxx Levell

Made mine from two 8" I-beam rails left over from someones construction project. I then made steel tubing saw horse type stands to set it at working height and some screw jacks to set parallel and square and level, spaced them so I could vary the widths and tacked every thing together, this has worked for at least 20 projects, over the last thirty years.
