Yup, I got sucked in. Tranny lasted about 20 miles before it stripped the governor gear. Unfortunately it sat about a year before I got the truck fired up. They were no help when I contacted them. I put on a new gear but it immediately stripped again. I have finally pulled the tranny and now I will have a local tear it down. Near as I can tell there is a misalignment with the gear on the output shaft and the governor gear. I had to use a pair of channel locks to get the governor out, I believe it shoud have poped out easily. Guessing they didnt replace the rear case bushing or there is a problem with the outputshaft.

Dont mean to hijack but does anybody know if it is possible they forgot a shim of some sort that would have thrown the alignment of the gears off?

I checked the guys feedback, the second most recent stated: "trans lasted 150 mi. warrantied but it cost $250 to ship will not buy from again"

The rest are all positives, but I'm sure almost everyone leaves their feedback before they put some real miles on the product.

Washes with 250 degree water also. Must be magic water, usually it boils at 212.

If you are ready to buy a tranny from an online source, most likely you will be the one installing it in your car. Right?

If so, most likely you have enough mechanical knowledge to rebuild a TH350 yourself. Here is an approx. $$ total cost:
- rebuild kit ($80 - northern auto parts)
- rebuilt training video ($30)
- a few auto tools ($50-100 - harbor freight)
- junk yard TH350 ($50-75)
- shift improver kit ($30)
- TH350 rebuild book by Rod Sessions (?) ~$40 Amazon (excellent resource)
- ~a week-end (1 or 2 days)

You will keep the video, book and tools for yourself and gain a lot of experience. Your next rebuild job will be much cheaper and quicker :-)

I have a Powerglide now and want to switch so i have no tranny to rebuild. Not really looking to experiment on this car anyway.
