Anyone catch Wing Nuts last night?
The wife and I were watching the show Wing Nuts on the Discovery Channel last night and were talking about how much of an idiot that guy Tim is. Well at the end of the show they had a deal that said in loving memory of the same guy. And their web site has the same thing. Felt kind of bad for bad mouthing the poor guy! Anyone know how he died or anything? I cant find anything on the net. Just curious I guess. I like the show and what they do with the vintage plane parts. Let me know if any one knows anything. Here is their site www.motoart.com/

I agree, I like these "destruction/buildup/hotrod reality shows, all though they all seem to be getting cookie cutter.
I have met a reality star before and I understand that most reality shows edit people into "characters" and tim was edited into a jerk. Maybe he was one, maybe he was just like all of us and they focused on the mean side. Either was he was my age and it is weird that he died. http://www.dailybreeze.com/ is a local paper, checked the obits but nothing yet, usually thats done within 3-5 days but before the funeral..I would be interested in knowing what happened... I'm gonna guess something here... He had NO family, No money and bills were due, he felt NO self esteem...I am going to guess SUICIDE.

Im inclined to agree with Weimer on that one, because if it had been "natural causes" like a heart attack, the motoart page would probably reflect that, same with car accident I think. Suicide and Drug OD's are usually kept secret...

No news yet on what happened to Tim? Just curious also....I couldn't find anything on it either.

Indian Larry
Indian Larry died from injuries he got while doing a motorcycle stunt, it didn't say what kind of stunt,, but I would bet it was standing up on a bike roaring down the turmac, it just takes one mistake to end it all, and he apparently made it,
About Tim robbins, I tend to agree with Weimer, that was my first thought when I saw the insert on the T.V. either that or Dave had him smacked, he was a lonesome guy, had been stealing money from the Co. lots of problems,, can't understand airing dirty laundry like that on national T.V. tho ,,,,,,, Bill Last edited by Bill Parten; 10-14-2004 at 08:50 PM. |

This was on a website I googled, "Update........ I just recieved an email from Dave Hall @ moto art, he states that at this time they think Tim may have died from natural causes, but a full investigation is under way.
Was this the guy that was kind of a go-fer? The one that seemed to be po'ed all the time? Dan

I did a google search for Indian Larry too. It appears that he did fall of his bike from a standing position at a high rate of speed with no helmet. I remeber he was on the very first Jesse James special (before monster garage) and he was standing on his bike and he also would put hi legs up on the handle bars.. It was amazing to me back then that that guy was as old as he was! Not a shock, but still sad.
dave@motoart said "natural causes?" at 41 is a heart attack or hemmorage still called "natural causes?" Gluck |

Tim Roberts/Motoart?Criminal
Hi,
I was Tim's best friend, songwriting partner/bandmate in Criminal in 1988-93. After I relocated to Austin from LA and then to Louisiana, Tim and I remained in constant contact. It was Tim's idea to use soundbytes of our songs (Criminal) on the show WingNuts-see ending credits for example. Tim was so much more than could be shown on a few episodes. He wasn't naive and knew it was all about the ratings. Actually Tim was responsible for making the show happen. So much for those who say he was dead weight. It hurts to see comments from people who don't have a clue what the guy was really like. I would like to invite anyone with positive interest to visit mine and Tim's site: http://www.timmurphyband.com There will be a page solely dedicated to Tim in the near future, but there is a Criminal page which has a lot of earlier pictures and some music. Best Regards, Tim Murphy |
