Anyone do a custom restore on a 1st series 55 Chevy Truck?

This is my first time and I'm looking for someone who's already done this that I can look at what they did, as they did it? Maybe someones journal or pic's they took along the way? I'm sure anything you learned from it would help me... Like,,, "yeah, if I did it again I would be sure and do this....."

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not going back original. I want a new front clip (suggestions), V8, transmission (suggestion), rear end (suggestion), etc....

I'm wanting to do it right and I'm pretty good with my hands (welding, etc...) and I have my own shop,,, I'm just not a pro mechanic. I'm not saying money's not an issue,,, but I will get the right stuff, it just may take me a while...

Thanks for your help!!!

Had this thing since new. Fun to drive. No front clip. 261 with a fuller roller cam and rockers with dual Weber carburetors , HEI and headers. Blows the doors off many older V-8's.
