anyone ever body drop a 53-56 ford f100?

im thinking of doing it and wondered if anyone has any helpful suggestions or photos of it being done

By dropping a body, do you mean channeling over the frame? Channeling a body on an F-100 sound easy...It's not. First you cut out the floor, then cut the rear of the cab so the body can be lowered, then reposition the body mounts. You may have to cut the firewall........Then comes the bed....Then the radiator supports, and inner fenders....need I go on? What would be a lot less work would be to lower the entire frame. To lower the front use an Volare or Cordoba IFS, it's almost a bolt on. With that you'll get power steering and disc brakes. You can adjust the height and ride through the torsion bars. The rear can be done through reversed eye springs along with other methods. If you want to stay all Ford, then check out these places for kits:

I did mine a little different. I swapped out my frame completely. I used an S-10 frame under my 52 F-1. This gave me IFS, power disc brakes/steering at a fraction of the cost of aftermarket. If you're interested, I have a website about the swap:
