Post Anyone familiar with AFR Heads?

I'm looking to build myself a nice little 302 for my '66 Stang... I've got a block already, but need to decide on heads. A friend of a friend has some AFR heads, 165cc, 1.90" intake and 1.60" exhaust valves...

Anyone had any firsthand experience with a set of these?

I have AFR 190cc street aluminum heads on my SBC 350. They are excellent! If the ones they make for Ford are as good as the heads for Chevy; I'd go for it. One side note. The tapped holes are not chamfered and this should be done before installing the heads.

I have <a href="http://a2.cpimg.com/image/0A/21/14706442-eb61-020001E0-.jpg" target="_blank">this set</a> of AFR 185s sitting in my garage waiting to go on my 331 stroker.

If the price is right, don't pass them up. Even if you don't have the optimum components (cam, intake, carb) to go with them right now, they are certainly something to build around.

A set of new ones like the ones you mentioned will run up to almost $1300. What condition are they in?
