Anyone familiar with D&J Machine & Performance Engines?

They sell built engines on Ebay at what looks like pretty good prices. Has anyone here dealt with them?

Thanks, Lee

DO NOT order from them. I ordered my engine from them March 30 and I am still waiting. They don't answer the phone or emails. When I have gotten through it has been with a friend's phone whose number they don't recognize. I am then told the engine will ship within 2 weeks, The first time I was told this was on June 20. I am still waiting.

And I'm fairly certain Lee made his choice in engines within the 9 years since he asked the question.

Wow! Nothing for 9 years, then twice in one day (yeah, I'm paraphrasing Heavy Metal).

But seriously- that's wild; my message just sat around for nine years until, I guess...an unhappy customer did a Google search for that shop's name. I wouldn't be too hard on the guy, though. I had a worse ordeal with a shop that worked on a truck for me.

I sold the car. In October 2005, I came home on leave from Afghanistan. I bought a '29 Ford Tudor Sedan body and frame, but realized I was in over my head. I got an '88 Mustang but got bored with it. Also- times got really tough. I'm a plumber and business was terrible for several years. The economy is better now and I'm about to start on another project that would be on-topic for this site. It's a belly tank lakester. It's based on a fiberglass copy of a P-38 tank, with plugs to stretch it 20 inches. I want to go for a plexiglass nose, like the Markley Brothers. I need to get it mocked up to see if a Ford DOHC 4.6 will fit. That block can make a lot of power. I'd like to do that and keep everything tucked inside the body.

Don't do it. I purchased a 283 crate engine from them in May of 2014. I never received the engine and did not get my money back.

. The price is "cheap" because you are no longer buying an engine, you are buying your way into a SCAM...

. From the postings here, looks like this company started getting flaky in Feb. 2013 and has now descended into a total SCAM... several people have engines ordered, money PAID, still no engine shows up SEVERAL MONTHS LATER... not answering phones... unless placing a new order...?
.

Ain't that the freakin' truth. Criminals have more rights than common citizens and KNOW how to exploit the system.
