anyone familiar with a Line-o-Tronics lift?

I recently purchased a line o tronics lift, used of course, after leveling out, I found the car was lop-sided, so I adjusted the cables that lift up the side away from the piston. After supporting it with jackstands to release the cables the left side won't come down. I suppose there is a centrifugal safety device but haven't found a way to release it. Also the piston is leaking severely, (probably why he sold it) and needs resealing. Any one out there that has technical info on this product? John

I can't help with the safety, but any local hydraulic shop can repair the leaking cylinder. Check the yellow pages. The cylinder repair is mostly replacing o-rings anyway. The lift I use in a USAF hobby shop, it will sometimes get "lop sided". There's a hydraulic valve on one side that adjusts it. You'll probably have to return the cables to the original position to release the lock. The valve is on the pump control and will allow just one side to move. You really need to contact the company and see if you can buy an operator's manual.

Try this (Line-O-Tronics two post car hoist) old post with lots of info--If that doesn't answer your questions maybe the guys discussing that lift can give you some additional help,if they are still active--(from 2004)

MAKE SURE YOUR CABLES ON THE SLAVE SIDE (THE POST WITHOUT THE CYLINDER), HAVE THE CABLES RUNNING BEHIND THE PULLEYS...THE SAFETY DISENGAGES FROM SLACK IN THE CABLES WITH THOSE PULLEYS..
