Anyone hear about "THE" Farmer?

This information under the link is off of Arnie's website....
I just read about his accident in one of the Poncho magazines.
I got to be somewhat of a friend to him after numerous meetings at the Super Chevy shows at Maple Grove Raceway and The York US 30 show in York, Pa!
Arnie is always up for a picture or talking your ear off.
Get well soon!
Check out his website here!

Update 1/31/04: Arnie is home recovering from additional surgery that was recently done on his right hand. The surgery was performed to obtain more mobility in his hand. The doctors were pleased with the way the surgery went but time and more physical therapy will bring more mobility back. Arnie has been in a lot of pain as a result of the surgery but always keeps his positive outlook. Watch for an update in the near future from Arnie regarding the progress of the Tameless Tiger.

Arnie's Accident

After completing his run at MAR in Wentzville, MO on Sunday, August 3rd, Arnie's racecar started on fire. Arnie received 3rd degree burns to both of his hands. He is also severely burned on his ankles, nose and mouth. He is in critical but stable condition. They x-rayed his lungs today and they show minimal to no damage. His vital signs are normal.

Arnie (the Farmer) Bestwick is one of the great old racers from the 60s. Must be in his 70s now and still racing. A real animal, I mean that in a good way. Saw him at Indy in 95 Nationals. Would do a great big long burnout 1/2 way up the track. Then he would back up to the start line at about 70 mph.....great showman.

Hope he is doing well....
