I am thinking about adding a larger drain pipe to the elbow coming out of the wall and bringing it over where I can get to it. This larger pipe would be vertical going up the wall behind the washer for the drain from the washer to go into it just like if it was a wash basin or sink. I can then simply put a net style trap on the end of the washer drain hose like you would in a wash basin.
It's either that or by a $175 filter.
