I was one of those kids (read teenager) who could never get enough of George Trosley and Cartoons magazine. My business name Klassik Kartoonz is a kind of tribute to the man and the mag.
We didnt always get a copy for sale here and I dont remember the one with the sprintcar on it's cover. I hold Trosley in my memory as a auotmotive artist god and try to emulate his work in my Kartoonz. Go to www.georgetrosley.com as from memeory there nay have been back issues available there. Get this little did most people realise that Trosley was also a regular artist for Hustler Magazine doing a majority of their ribald toons. Crass and Bernie were the regular characters in Cartoons btw. Craig |

I am just a wealth of knowledge TEE HEE
I downloaded the samples from the Hot Draw CD page on his site and gave em to my son, he loves them but hasnt quite got the hang of it yet. Give it time though he is already ahead of where I was at his age with drawing cars and stuff. Junior Klassik is coming lol Craig |

I have a couple but not that issue. They're tucked away in the attic space somewhere, along with some of my old comic books that my mom didn't manage to find and throw away. My very oldest ones she trew out. Even at a young age I knew they'd be worth something when I grew up but you know moms. 'LET'S THROW IT OUT IT'S GARBAGE!" I had a lot of number 1 issues when I was a kid.

Heh, Odd rodder. I forgot all about Hawg Rider and Ol' Poop. I think they were in Cycle Toons. I may even have some of those in the attic too. I'll have to go up dig'em out and reminesce some time.
Digging through the website that Kev. put up, I found I used 2 of those pics in my scrapbook I have on my old 38. Cool. I didn't realize it was the same artist. |
