Anyone used the professional products vortec intake??

I've been looking for a new intake, and of course the eddies are a bit more expensive than others. I was on amazon and found the professional product intake for about 100 bucks cheaper. Are these chinese knockoffs or american made.... and are they any good?

Probably made in China, here's a link to their site http://www.professional-products.com/

Edlebrock intakes deliver the goods especially the RPM versions for street engines and stock type competition where they are allowed. More expensive but that R&D isn't cheap.

I have the Professional products Crosswind intake for vortec heads.

it fit fine and works assume. Bolt it on and go.

I have used the edelbrock RPM vortec manifold before also.

The outer cast appearance on the edelbrock is nicer.

Yes they are made in China. No quality issues at all with this manifold.

Guys I appreciate all the input. F-Bird, thanks for sharing your experience with the Professional Product intake. You metioned you used the Crosswind. Would this be similiar to the Eddie RPM style or the basic performer intake? I've seen they as in PP, have the Crosswind and the Cyclone. Look forward to your answer F-Bird.

I have the Crosswind on my Vortec Head Chevy and have not had any problems with it. Like said before the casting isnt as nice as the Edelbrock. I seem to remember a magazine doing a dyno shootout on several intakes and the Crosswind was within a few a few HP of the Edelbrock.

However, make no bones about it, the Professional product is a Fake copy of the Edelbrock. And for that reason alone if I had to do it again I would spend the few extra $ and buy the Edelbrock.

R&D ISN'T CHEAP..
what is, is reverse engineering someone elses and making a carbon copy..
that my friends is fraud..
when edel's gone and there is no ones R&D to copy. you'll have no parts..

Side note on vortec intake application,,,

With the money you save with the PP intake you can buy this gasket set. You will only use the two intake gaskets however IMO these are the best vortec head gaskets available. If you dont like your intake you can pull it off and drop on another as these gaskets are reusable. They also have self alignment pins that fit into the heads, steel core and seal up like a champ eliminating port leaks on the air and water side. They are the GM replacement gasket:

For what it is worth I use the edelbrock performer EPS 2716 on my vortec head motor, it has been a good one for my application.

Hey Thanks All Fellas... Looks like I will stick to what I know best.. and that the good old Eddie intakes. Don't mean to jump off the subject, but any good 300hp vortec combos out there using stock vortec heads and pistons?
