They're the endura rubber bumpers. I got a pretty good technique in fixing them in terms of the cracks and stuff but on mock up one side doesn't leave a gap to the hood but it looks like there's a lip of rubber that can be shaved down to give a good bodyline. So, instead of shifting the support and leaving the front end cockeyed to fix it has anyone shaved that rear edge to make a nice gap to the front of the hood? Seems like it's an option.

Having restored many GTO's with endure bumpers and teaching a class "how too" at the GTO nationals, I don't understand how we make the bumper cockeyed to get the ends and gaps to line up but maybe we adjust the door gaps before we see if the fender is out of adjustment.

If the body bushing mounts are replaced and the sheet metal lined up like it should be, the bumpers are rarely an issue, that a minor shim won't take care of.
Granted these were not always aliened perfectly from the factory, just like the rest of the body gaps as with most older cars.

Too grind an end, to a GTO judge would send him over the deep end as the bumper has a unique shape but if were doing $2000 scuff and paint, what the hell.

On a personal note, if I was looking at that car to buy, first thing I would be doing is deducting $2000 to allow me enough money to find a good used bumper to replace the ground up one because they are not easy to find.

I remember working on these when they where new and the front bumpers most times fit like a saddle on a sow.

I actually think the front was hit and the metal under the rubber is bent. Might try to mount up at least the main brackets and pull it on the car, if the boss allows. If not I'll make some fellas cringe by just taking 40 grit and shaving that one side down. I recall these things being really adjustable and maneuverable, but on this one we're still waiting for brackets and I have only held it up to the front end.
