Depends which AOD you start with. Try to find one from behind an HO engine, Mustang GT or Mark 7 LSC, they have more disks. You'll need a AOD flexplate with 28 balance for the W, and the usual clutch and oil pressure upgrades. I am also thinking that you will need the starter that comes with an AOD.
A good stock one from an HO will last OK for you. Remember the GT guys souped up their engines and raced a lot until they needed an overhaul.
