FOUND Apricot Brandy 54 Corvette Found

To all,

I spoke with my buddy today and with help from the internet he has found Apricot Brandy. We will be going to view the car right after fisrt of the year. Thanks for info. and the pics.

To all,

These are pictures of Apricot Brandy circa 1972-1974. The car belonged to a friend mine. I haven't seen the car since early 1975. Last seen in SW Ohio where it was based. I see want ads. for these old race cars all the time. I wonder if there's a snow balls chance of finding this car? If so where should I advertise? I'm trying to help a friend find it.

This thing was bad. It was a 6 banger, 4-speed and ran low 11's most of the time. Eventually the car dipped into the high 10's and held an IHRA record.

Every now and then it went on the street.

I surf the web alot and find tons of racing web sites. Dragtimes.com racing junk.com is a good one. Hemmings has a wanted section. specialinterest.com is for the tristate area and has free listings. good luck looks like a cool hot rod.
Check around your local drastips and post want ads in their local papers.

We have been seriously looking for about a month. The owner knew who he had sold it too 45 years ago. He sold it to the guy for $1,800. We tracked down the guy who was still living and local. He told my buddy he kept the car for one year and resold it for $2,200. He also knew which direction the car headed when he sold it. At any rate my buddy ended up with a name and phone number and hit the jack pot. I called him this morning and he said he had for sure found the car and talked to the current owner. We are off in month or so to hopefully bring it home.

I can't wait to see it.

Any update by chance ?
Living in southwestern Ohio as a kid I heard great tales of this car. Just happened to stumble on this thread a few days ago.

apricot brandy corvette

I was a regular at Edgewater Dragstrip from '68 - '75. I am 100% sure that the car was first owned by a Jimmy Elliot. Jimmy was a short fellow and drove the car. He lost a arm earlier and I believe the car had a clutch with some sort of pushbutton tranny.

i dont remember him loosing a arm....i bet i could get some good pics of it...it seems he had 2 of these...one was a beast that ran like 7-8 sec in qt mile....i also remember he had a old mustang he raced out there too.
