My dad recently bought me a 2002 Lincoln LS with 220 HP. Although I would loved to have a used 94 Toyota Supra TT for 20 grand, my dad wanted me to have a safe car, so I had my dad down 2 cars he approved; I had a choice between a Caddy CTS and a Lincoln LS, so I went with a Lincoln because I liked the sporty look. I figured that I put on a Razzi Body Kit, and HID Lights, with clear Tail Light covers, then I would definitly be Ricin' it, perfect for a 17 year old guy, like myself.
I never suspected my car to be very fast because It was a luxary sport, but the thing does have power to it. One day going to Wal-Mart I pulled up to my friend (not really a friend more like a guy I knew from school.) He was all decked out in his Civc with the Kit, and Stickers whole 9 yards. He revs up his engine, so im thinkin he wants to show me up, cause my car isnt in my opinion at the time a fast car. So I said ok, pulled my automatic transmission in Neutral and reved and threw the transmission in second gear. Since we werent at a Stop Light, just a common Stop Sign, he said he would drop his hand and that means go. So he dropped, we pulled off the line I got up to about 25, and pushed it into Drive, and boom I pulled about 2 car lenghts ahead, I slowed about 1000ft from were we started, and I had did it i won my very first race and it was the first race I ever had. But, now that I think about it, it was a Honda Civic, stupid import, domestic all the way! Well, you may be sitting in your computer chair laughin at a Stupid 17-year old ricer, with his fancy luxary sport car, with his razzi kit, and clear tail lights, with high-d lights, but im proud of my car. Whatcha Y'all Think about that???? Whats Next: a K&N Filter and Sticker? lol. When I was 17 I drove my automatic trans like you are talking about putting it in neutral and then dropping it in gear, did not last long. Just keep it in drive and stomp on the gas, that way you will be starting out in first instead of second, it will shift itself when it needs to and you won't be tearing a transmission up and you can still beat the next guy, however there is nothing to beating a Honda Civic anyone can do that on foot. Run a small block Chevy and see if you can beat that. I think not.

Is daddy going to pay for your work and parts or are you going to do it yourself? It will be more fun and you will learn what this hobby is about
and you will take better care of your car if you do it yourself.Beware of cars that will run and run good, you might not pull off on them and what ever you do don't do it on the street,it gives the rest of us a bad name when some young and old people act crazy. The main thing is to have fun so keep HOTRODDING. |

Yeah, my dad does pay for my parts/car. But im not attending to race a Lincoln LS, If I wanted to race, id try to get my dad to buy me a 69 Camaro, now thats a good car. But, in my opinion my dad wont buy me a car like that, so I would have to save it on my own from my job at Disc Jockey. Which would take for ever. A while back I started going to a strip an hour away from my house, and I do have to say I have apperciation for the people and thier vehicles, alot of time and energy.

Hey, if your parents can and will buy you an expensive car like that and you are appreciative and respectful to them, then more power to you guys. One word of caution though, I would probably stop shifting like you did while racing. Even if your dad has the money to fix the tranny, I'm sure he won't be happy about doing it! Also, please don't rice a Lincoln out! There's nothing sadder than seeing domestic vehicles in rice-rocket clothing

Cool , but D is for drag and R is for race. second time I drove broke the trans in the ol' mans 55 ford station wagon. cost 45 bucks to fix. almost a months worth of milking wages. gave the bucks back for a safe car. happened to be a 50 4dr study. pretty safe car back then just like a sherman. could pack 15 kids in the front and back , 6 in thr trunk if you stacked em right.could drive a week on 2 bucks of gas and cruse the curbs on sat nite, BUT I had to buy all the parts myself. bet it'll still do 75 full of kids!!!!!!!!!
