I recently bought a Ati At series paint gun (gravity fed) not HVLP
it was pretty chep but it seems to be of good quality does anyone know if these are decent paintguns mine is a 1.5mm I bought it for primering and I may use it to re paint my truck if it will work
I have a compressor exactly like this
http://aircompressorsdirect.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1_197_89&products_id=348

are my tools up to the task of a basic paint job (no clear just a base color no metal nothing like that) just a base coat and thats it If anything I have said doesnt fit together
I am still making my way though the Faq sorry about that soon I should have the basics down though

Most of these copy paint guns are made in the same factories with a different name on them,
They are all pretty good guns for money and what you want to do.

Basicly I want to attempt my first paint job and I will probley use nason product because its affordable enough that If I dont do an amazing job that I wont feel bad sanding it down in a year and re painting my truck

Now that I have thought about it I would really like to have clear on it but do I need to have my truck in a heated booth will my garage with a good heater work>?

Be very careful painting that truck in your garage. For a quality job you need to have a good air movement through your spray area to get the fumes out. Keeping heat in your garage while painting with good ventilation will be very difficult this time of year in the north country. I live in Michigan and the body shops here are burning very large volumes of heating fuel to paint this time of year. Your best bet would be to get the car ready for paint and find a booth to rent, you might be money ahead in the long run. JMO, Bob
