Attention Auto Geniuses, Nairb Is About To Lose It!!! Help!!!

Guys,

I replaced the engine on a 1995 Mazda Melinia S. The engine is a 2.3 Millercycle with a lysholm screw type supercharger.

The engine will run and idle fine, but will not rev above 1500 RPM even if you hold it wide open.

This particular engine has a dual intake manifold system similar to a Ford 3.8/4.2, in that it switches a valve when you gun it to allow the supercharger to do it's thing.

I have checked exhaust backpressure, and fuel pressure. All within specs. The engine runs just the same with the exhaust removed so no plugged exhaust.

I need information if anyone knows where to get it. Desperate for help!

When you rev it, does it still sound like it is firing properly or does it sound like it is hitting erratically?

did you try manually squirting fuel into the intake while gassing it to see if it picks up? Mass air meter inst back wards is it? Any codes? Crank case over full? Will the ignition fire a spark tester? As I remeber from an old post I suggested you run from that thing! Its a pos. I hope some of this helps.

make sure that plug on the air intake is plugged in, it's a map sensor or some b.s.

my old nissan sentra did that, the clip that holds the 2 connections together broke so it wasn't connected all the way and it wouldn't rev. past 1400 rpm.

good 'ol duct tape got me home that day

Like is already mentioned .If it is MAF check for any hoses or leaks between the MAF and intake. It looks like 67 Deuce 4ME had some good suggestions.

Had those exact symptoms with a 92 Sentra and it turned out to be an O2 sensor. Go figure

Well, I've put the car on the back burner for a while. This guy purchased this particular car with the engine blown up. It had a hole in the side of the block and was formally owned by a buy-here-pay here car lot and sold to two college students.

I think it has a long history of being a complete piece of junk.

This car does so many strange things that I don't know where to start on it.

The latest discovery is that the transmission does not have any reverse gear and won't shift. It runs rich, it won't rev up, the cooling fans won't work, and on top of all of that, there is a mass of wires twisted together under the dash. I think the "Miller Cycle" has something to do with "Miller Time".

Those pick axes are looking better all the time.
