My first car was an anemic 1984 Caprice Classic sedan with the 305 and an automatic. I still found ways to make that car a terror to fellow drivers on the streets. I still have the car and now I have to fix everything I did to the car when I was much less responsible so I can have a nice sedan for the family. The misses wants a mid-size SUV so there's no chance of me getting a new truck anytime soon, so I have to dust the cobwebs off the old Grandpa car and make a decent cruiser out of it for the family.
I guess the point is that I agree. Even if your daughter wont thrash it, I'm sure whatever guy she's dating at the time probably will. You have a nice car though, I really want a 3rd gen as my next project. These cars are starting to climb in value and become real collectors. Hold on to it before you kick yourself for getting rid of it a decade from now.
