Dang, I drove this thing home and WOW is all I can say. I kinda pusssyfooted around on the test drive the other day b/c the owner was with me... but damn, this thing turns the tires over with no effort at all you kinda have to try not too... I dont know if they were just having a really good day at the engine plant that day in 86 or what...DAMN

Ive had it an hour and Im already attached...

NOT MUCH lb's per sqr inch of rear tread..
plus the tpi torque down low.. iirc it's like 315 ft lbs

on a good day the car will run mid 15 second 1/4 mile times

btw if u plan on keeping the car and want to really make it handle well check out foundersperformance.com

they make really good suspension stuff and they are a whole lot cheaper then everyone else

not really a buzzkill u have to rember the top of the line l98 engine would run low low 15's to high 14's with a very good driver. slow by todays standards

the lb9 backed with the 5 speed was just a touch slower then the l98, but it was a whole lot more fun to drive since it was the only way to get a stick behind a decent engine.

only reason the manual equiped cars had more hp was because they had a slightly better cam then the auto equiped cars


that car is really clean and would be worth alot of money if the piant was in great shape, even with a repaint that car will be worth a bunch more then u paid for it.

i would paint it or have it painted and put the correct decal kit back on it, and hold onto it it ill only go up in value as 3rdgen cars that clean are very very hard to come by

i would give up my twin turbo 89 iroc to get a nice iroc that is as clean as the one u got

so that iroc's got a tBI NOT tPi.??

cause the 87 tpi was 215hp 4400 and 295 at 3200 315 at 4900

You are so right, numbers are for accountants, not evil, just wrapped up in the moment...enjoy... you have made a great purchase and you deserve to revel in that...you still have to paint it....and that takes time.
