they did not come on all the cars. if ur under the front of the car its the brace/bar thats bolted in above the sway bar btw if u plan on driving this thing a decent bit u need to keep a couple 5/8's heater hose caps and a section of 5/8's heater hose in the trunk the heater control valve is plastic on these cars and they love to break at the worst times leaving u on the side of the road with a huge coolant leak ,stupid gm put them right above the ex manifolds were they get heated and cooled so they become very brittle on every last one of my cars i remove it if its still there and in the winter plumb it so the heater core gets water, then in the summer i bypass the heater core. ive had about 5 break on me lol anothe roption is to get one off a gm g-body car as they are metal and not plastic |

I sold a bunch of them when they were new. The 305 with 5 speed was every bit as fast as the 350 automatic. You want the 305 with the performance axle ratio. There were some made with the better suspension and quicker steering. The plain Jane IROCS did not drive the same as the ones ordered with the good stuff. The top speed on them was about 145 mph. The handling on the Mustang 5.0 was not in the same league as the IROCs.

Mine has the performance handling option, and the little bit I have driven it, it feels great!!
The rear ratio is 2:73... a guy gave me a link to Moser and some extra thick 3:73's that would work with the carrier... I think if I ever did anything to mod the car, the gears would be it... If I keep the car, I could buy a few go fast goodies for it after I sell my vette in the spring... Of course , I wouldnt hop it up and let my daughter drive it. If it does go to her, it will stay stock. |

I can't remember all the details. I think you had to order the performance axle ratio with the 305 and 5 speed to get the good stuff, I think the rear gears were 3.23. They had the 4 wheel disc brakes and the posi.

Needs to be lowered a couple of inches.
Apart from that.......perfect. Mine has a 2.90 ratio rear, but as I have a B/M trans with a lower first it doesn´t need swapping. I also have one of those aluminum rear end covers with the bolts to preload the bearings a tad. Similar to this. Last edited by malc; 11-06-2012 at 11:46 PM. |
