attn: old schooler body techs... is this tool any good?

it's a rodac air grinder. I take it these are old but for $10 is this a good deal? What kind of disk would I put in it?

That is a gamble but worth it to me.Hey if it works you did good..that looks like a 5/8 arbor and that tool replaces you makita 4 1/2 grinder and uses the same sort of grinding wheels I believe if I IIRC..

wondering how much torque it has compared to 4.5".

Wouldn't it be nice to have a variable trigger angle grinder? I think Ryobi makes one, or at least one with differing speeds. Sometimes they're a little too fast.

If you got a good air compessor, then yes they do take some air. My 50 gallon 5hp ran a lot when I cut the floors out on my 59 BIZ

I've had Rodac air tools, Might still have some, they work ok but were home, hobbiest tools but for $ 10 if it still runs, ?

My Rodac grinder is so old I cant remember being without it or where I got it.it doesnt have a lot of torque any more and it does suck up some air but I have more than enough to keep it going and it still works so its still in my box and every once in a while I need it for something mostly grinding heavy paint... I'd compare it to a national detroit They last forever and can take a lot of abuse but suck a lot of air.
I bought a 4.5" air side grinder from HF that is pretty darn nice for the price and you can control the speed, its great for grinding welds,I like it a lot better than my electric side grinders.
