There is an older guy i work with out of our Hall that has one of those older "The Hood",he let me use it while i was running dual shield wire inside a vessel that had wear plate in it to make glass as it rolled,..i loved the thing,...and that was the first one i ever used and it made me decide i wanted an auto lens,this was about 8 years ago and i seen him recently at the local dirt track on a saturday night and he said that Hood is still workin just fine,but i think some of those older Hoods had the battery back up in it too,but was only 1/3200 seconds flash over,most of even the cheaper newer ones have a minumum of 1/10,000,and go up to a fast 1/35,000,which i think thats what the Miller Elites are.
The technology has come so far in a short time it's crazy,once you use a GOOD auto lens,you are RUINED for life,lol
