auto to manual conversion

im also curious about how to do a auto to manual converion on a 79 4x4

Buy the parts and swap them in....

After reading and responding to your other post in this forum I think that you have the wrong truck. Those trucks aren't terribly expensive and you're talking about overhauling the entire drivetrain to match something already offered from the factory and is readily available. Maybe you should sell your truck and buy one with a manual transmission and 3.73 gears to start with.

not looking to change trucks...just looking for options on this one. why would i buy another truck when i have one that has major potential...just looking for a point in the right direction as im new to 4x4s. building a hot rod was just easier and im looking forward to a new challenge. help woould be appreciated

that would have been like saying why put a blower in that malibu when u could have bought a z06 with the same horsepower and better looks? come on dude, i just wanna have fun with my truck, know what i mean?

Get a donor vehicle with all the parts you need. Plan on different drivelines, T case ect.

It usually helps to know what brand of truck you have. 79 4x4 is pretty vague.

What size tire are you going to use . And what are your plains for the truck . This is a easy build.
