Auto to Manual Ford 351w Ranchero GT

I just bought a 76 Ford Ranchero and I want to put a manual transmission in it. Its got a C4 auto right now and I hate it.

Its got a 351w with a 9" rear.. I am looking on ebay at T56s..

Whats out there that would bolt up? Most of the T56s don't have a bell housing. I don't know if you can even use one on a Ford..
What else should I look for?

If anybody can point me in the right direction I would be grateful. and I will buy you a beer.

I would probably get a trans out of a GT mustang 87 to 93 and you will probably need a adapter plate along with a different trans crossmember, they sell the crossmember or it's not real hard to fab one up if you have the means. The adapter plate is needed in most cases to move the trans out enough so nothing will bind up in the shaft / clutch/pressure plate area.
Drive-shaft is More then likely going to be different either way going from a c4 to a 5-speed.JMO Pedals probably going to have to find something pretty close to your year not real sure what will work other then maybe a manual trans torino or something similar. IMHO Be a real good driver and a lot of fun if go this route Steve.IMHO I am sure i left some thing out but maybe someone else will come along and add something i might have missed.

Thanks for the reply Cole!

I am really hot to get rid of this auto trans. Drive shaft is having some vibe issues anyway.. Not a big deal to get one made. Cross member I could probably fab myself.
Those adapter plates.. Where do you get those? Where should I look?

Thanks very much Cole.

I did my first work to her today.. Got rid of the column shifter and finished the install on the B&M floor shifter.. Also got a nice Grant steering wheel and put it on.. The old one smelled like Cheetos.

You can get that adapter any where that sell classic mustang parts or anywhere they sell conversion kits at. CJ pony parts/NPD/ and there are several more but these wil give you a idea anyway.
