Automatic to 4spd Conversion

How exactly would i go about changing a automatic to a 4spd car?
the cars are exactly the same year and i have both trannys i just have to change it out? Also would i be able to put my tach dash into the car with the regular idiot lights?

what sort of car, chevys can be interchanged with just about any engine/trans combination but fords cant.
either way you will need a clutch pedal and mastercylinder set up, slave cylinder,remove flex plate from engine and install flywheel(may also need a different bush in flywheel hole), probably need to enlarge hole in trans tunnel for shifter to fit through and operate, if trans are different in length then need to move or modify rear trans mount and driveshaft, also driveshaft yoke may need changing
