Automatic Floor Shifters

I bought a new B&M Z Gate floor shifter.I have a bench seat in my El Camino and I found out today that trying to install it that this shifter won't fit with the bench seat.In park the shift handle is to close to the dash.My first reaction was great,I have an excuse to get the bucket seats I've always wanted but my budget right now won't allow for that.Any one using an after market B&M/Hurst floor shifter with bench a seat.I'm about 5'7 so I can't move the seat to far back to accommodate the shifter

You could look into a ratchet-type shifter.
